Bethel Community Linkages

What is Bethel Linkages?
Bethel Community Linkages is composed of a group of caring community members and organizations committed to developing, expanding, and sustaining resources that support young children and their families.

Our vision is to create a learning community with opportunities for communication, training, and learning among families, child care providers, and preschools, and to provide opportunities for children to enter kindergarten with basic preacademic skills, healthy and ready to learn.

Bethel Linkages is hosted by Bethel Public Schools.

Who participates?
Current active members include parents, child care providers, Bethel School District, Tacoma Pierce County Health Department, Pierce County Libraries, Puget Sound Educational Service District, Pacific Lutheran University, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and Child Care Resource & Referral of Pierce County.

What does Bethel Linkages do?
**provide an opportunity for active members to share information and resources
            with each other
**provide workshops for childcare and community preschool providers
**provide information for parents of young children and community members
**provide resources for parents of young children
**seek funding and new resources for our community
Three years ago, we held an Early Childhood Summit with the support of the Department of Early Learning.  The Summit brought together key stakeholders and decision makers to learn about what was available in our community, where additional services were needed, and to provide a basis for our future work together.  More recently, members of Bethel Linkages have participated on the Bethel School District’s Early Learning Task Force.  Recommendations from the task force will go to the School Board in late Fall, 2010.

How can I get involved or get more information about Bethel Linkages?
