The Bethel School District’s Head Start and ECEAP programs help children get ready for school. Our programs are FREE and transportation is provided in most areas. To qualify for our programs you must meet certain income guidelines.

What you will need:
* Proof of income for the last 12 months
TANF award letter, 2011 W2, 2011 tax statement
unemployment, child support, paystubs
* Your child’s birth certificate
* Your child’s immunizations
* Proof of Residency of the Bethel School District:
water bill, rental agreement

Qualifications
Children must be age 4 or 3 by August 31st of the school year. First priority for enrollment will be given to children who are four years old. Second priority will be given to children who are three years old. Families need to meet the Federal poverty guidelines. It is a requirement that all children enrolled in ECEAP/Head Start have immunizations, a medical exam and a dental exam. Please complete exams and immunizations prior to your child’s first day of school. If you do not have insurance to cover these exams please let us know right away so that we can assist you further.

Education
Standardized curriculum; Positive first school experience; Developmentally appropriate activities; Kindergarten preparation
Health & Nutrition
Height, weight, vision and hearing screenings; Nutritious lunch; Nutrition activities for children; Health and nutrition education for families
Family Services
Parent education
Information and referrals to community services; Family support and mental health services as needed; Workshops and classes including CPR & First Aid and Ready for Kindergarten.
Parent Involvement
Volunteer Opportunities; Plan and participate in family activities; Participate in decision making; Opportunities for parents to help design the program
Program Design
Each student attends four days a week for 2.7 hours each day. During their time at school, the typical daily schedule includes free choice time, small group activities, lunch and outside play. Through the various centers in the classroom, children will be provided with manipulative toys, art and craft materials, and other supplies and equipment that create a rich learning environment.
